Providing Everyone with Opportunities for Professional and Learning Excellence (PEOPLE)
The PEOPLE Program is specifically designed to provide outreach and academic support for specific populations of student that can find unique challenges in their academic achievement and progress, including undocumented students.
Participants of the PEOPLE program will form part of a community with individuals of similar background. The goal is for AB540 student population to successfully engage and connect with the academic community. Through research, we know student engagement is closely connected to successful on-time graduation rates. Therefore, our PEOPLE program leaders will assist students in their academic endeavor. Participants of the PEOPLE will become student leaders for these specific student populations at UC, Irvine and will lead events or programs with a focus on academic success.
AB 540 Track
– Academic support regarding study skills, time management, developing and achieving academic goals,
– Organized study sessions and information about tutorial services
– Learn how to navigate the university policies and connect with the appropriate resources

A current 2nd year UCI law student, Sam has a dedicated interest and investment in the success of undocumented students. His future aspirations are to be a corporate transactional lawyer. His current campus involvement includes the Student Bar Association–Vice Chair for External Relations, OutLaw President, Kaplan-Head Representative, UCI Law Research Assistant and UCI Law Community Fellow. Sam is involved in Street Law, Saturday Academy of Law, Naturalization Clinic, International Refugee Assistance Program, DACA Renewal Clinic, and the U-Visa Project.
